GRACE HILLS CHURCH
We believe gathering together in corporate worship is a vital element of what it means to be the church. The songs we sing have power to shape our theology, unite us under the banner of Christ, and witness to the world. Our worship ministry at Grace Hills seeks to sing songs of rich truth that push us deep into Scripture to praise our God.
CONTEMPORARY SERVICE (9:15am)
Our contemporary worship service (9:15am) includes a range of songs, from traditional hymns to contemporary Christian music. This service is typically accompanied by a full worship team (drums, bass, electric guitar, etc.) and a number of volunteers lending their voices and talents in musical worship.
Songs are selected each week with a strong focus on their relation to each week’s passage of Scripture and/or sermon series. We strive to encourage multigenerational worship in the songs we sing by incorporating modern worship songs, hymns, and everything in between. Some of our favorite artists and songwriters to draw from for this service include Shane & Shane, Phil Wickham, and The Worship Initiative. Believing firmly in the power of songs to shape theology, we place a strong emphasis on lyrical depth and Biblical truth in every song we sing.
TRADITIONAL SERVICE (11:00am)
Our traditional worship service (11:00am) likewise includes a range of songs, consisting of mostly traditional hymns mixed with contemporary Christian music. This service is typically an acoustically-accompanied service led from the piano with a intended focus on corporate, congregational singing.
Songs are selected each week with a strong focus on their relation to each week’s passage of Scripture and/or sermon series. While relying on the hymnal for the majority of songs sung in this service, we also sing newer songs from modern hymn writers including CityAlight, Keith and Kristyn Getty, and Shane & Shane. Believing firmly in the power of songs to shape theology, we place a strong emphasis on lyrical depth and Biblical truth in every song we sing, whether the song be a traditional hymn or a modern worship song.
WORSHIP: WEIGHTY EXALTATION OF GOD THROUGH HONEST CONVERSATION WITH GOD
Every Sunday morning, we spend time lifting our voices in song together as a church family. In both our contemporary and traditional services, we sing together songs spanning generations.
SONGS OF GRACE
Our Songs of Grace worship nights are events throughout the year devoted to corporate worship, uniting our church as one body to sing songs and remind ourselves of the importance of corporate worship.
Marking various events and seasons throughout the year (e.g. Christmas, Good Friday), we hold special worship services devoted to remembering, celebrating, and worshiping the Lord in Scripture and in song.
